The new ferry line to connect Ukraine, Romania and Georgia

Beginning from 15 October 2014, Odessa shipping company "Ukrferry" (Ukraine) has launched a regular road-railway ferry line Ilyichevsk (Ukraine) - Constantza (Romania) - Batumi (Georgia). According to the press service of the company, the line is served by a road-rail / passenger ferry "Greifswald” which leaves port of Ilyichevsk once a week.

Road-rail / passenger ferry "Greifswald" (length greater than 190 m, width - 28 m) was built in 1988 in Germany and is under the supervision of Germanischer Lloyd classification. The vessel is certified Guinness as the largest ship in the world in the category of road-rail passenger ferries.

Two cargo decks can take simultaneously aboard 50 universal rail wagons and 50 TIR. Passenger ferry complex has 150 seats.
