The issues of Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR) development discussed in Klaipeda

On November 27 in the city of Klaipeda within the framed of Round table there were held presentation of Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR) capabilities in direction of China –Europe.

The event were participated by representatives of railroad administrations of Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Georgia, maritime administrations and large forwarding & logistic companies, in particular DB Schenker, InterRail Logistics GmbH, Navilog Transport AB. Round table were also participated by Vice-Minister of Lithuania L. Girdauskas, Mayor of Klaipeda V.Grublyauskas, Advisor of the Embassy of Republic of Kazakhstan in Lithuania O.Toguzbayev, Marketing Director of Klaipeda Sea State Port A.Drungilas.

Representatives of the Lithuanian side expressed readiness to participate in the project development of the Trans-Caspian route. Vice-Minister of Lithuania L. Girdauskas marked, that " .. We are interested in increasing of the capacities and co-ordinations of the works in development of the projects "Viking” and «NomadExpress».

Kazakhstan side informed that In July of this year the first container train "Northern Express” was launched on the line China – Kazakhstan – Azerbaijan. Distance of 4726 km the train was traveled in just 6 days.

Presently there are in progress the works jointly with Chinese side for organization of container train «NomadExpress» on the route China – Kazakhstan – Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey .

The Project of TCITR has a greater capabilities and potential for realization of transport potential and trade development on Euro-Asian continent. Same allows to enlarge the horizons of cooperation with the countries of Southern and Eastern Europe, also Baltic region..
