Meeting of Working Group on Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR) was held in Batumi on 17 January 2017.
Participants of above said event were representatives of JSC "National Company" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", Closed JSC " Azerbaijan Railways", JSC "Georgian Railway", JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia”, Batumi Sea Port Ltd, Closed JSC "Baku International Sea Trade Port" , JSC "National Company" Aktau International Sea Trade Port", Batumi Oil Terminal Ltd, Closed JSC
" Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Co", JSC "Ukrferry", PKP Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa
sp. z o.o., TCDD Tasimacilik A.S and TRANSLOGIST SRL.
With a view of project development and further attracting of additional cargo flow using the capacity of transport infrastructure of TCITR, the Working Group on Development of the TCITR decided to save through tariff rates for transportation of containers from China to Europe and back, adopted by the parties of TCITR in 2016.
Besides, on January 18, 2017 there was held first sitting of Legal Entities Union "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route”, where the members of the Board were approved under the chairmanship of Mr. K.Alpysbayev, President of JSC "National Company" Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", also there was elected General Secretary and considered other issues of main activity.
The TCITR route passes through China, Kazakhstan, Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine and further European countries.
The TCITR as global logistic project allows delivery of cargoes to final consumers within strictly allowed period of time. Containers with goods to overcome the route length of 9 thousand kilometers in 14 days.
