Seafarers Day 2017
The Seafarers day was celebrated on June 25, 2017.
To express honour and respect to the seafarers the date of June 25-th was announced by International Maritime Organization (IMO) as International Seafarers Day. Since 2011 this day has been celebrating by all maritime countries and by Georgia as well. Maritime Transport Agency of Ministry of Economic and Sustainable Development of Georgia with support of Batumi Sea Port conducted large scale actions.
Main action among of all planned one was conducted on the berth No.10 of Batumi Sea Port, where officials made speeches to all present and conducted the rewarding ceremony. Seafarers were rewarded for their special contribution in the field of shipping and special valour in the sea.
Seafarers get congratulations from Mr.Giorgi Gakharia, Minster of Economic and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mr.Zurab Pataridze, Chairman of Government of Adjara Autonomous Republic and Mr.Mamuka Akhaladze. Director of Maritime Transport Agency.
In the same time there were conducted another actions in Batumi dedicated to the June 25. The celebration was finalized by grandiose firework on the seaside.

|May 28, 2021||The Batumi Sea Port Ltd supported the initiative of the state authorities of Georgia and Kazakhstan to start vaccinating personnel against the Covid-19 coronavirus. The Port Administration informed that this decision allows returning quickly to normal operation.
