Visit of the Ambassador of Japan
On June 11, 2021, a working meeting was held in the Port of Batumi between the management of the Batumi Oil Terminal, the Batumi Sea Port and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Georgia, Mr. Iamamura Akira. During the meeting, the General Director of BOT Mr.Murat Dzhumadillayev and the General Director of BSP Mr.Meiramkhan Adylkhanov acquainted the Ambassador with the capabilities of the port of Batumi. The meeting was of an introductory nature, the guest was interested in the following questions: what cargoes are handled in the port, what type of vessels enter the port, as well as the capabilities of strengthening port security measures and new challenges of the enterprise. Ambassador Mr. Iamamura Akira noted that the development of the port of Batumi as one of the main strategic objects of Georgia is undoubtedly part of Japan's economic interests in the Black Sea region. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation. After the meeting, Mr. Iamamura Akira visited the official opening of the new mineral fertilizer terminal "Wondernet Express" on the territory of the Batumi Sea Port.
