The International Seafarer's Day
On June 25, 2024, the events dedicated to the International Seafarer's Day were held on the territory of the Batumi Sea Port Sea Station. Georgian sailors were congratulated on their professional day by Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, First Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Head of the Maritime Transport Agency Alexi Akhvlediani and Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze. Representatives of the Government of Georgia, the diplomatic corps and the General Director of Batumi Sea Port Ltd Ulan Tleugali took part in the solemn event. Since 2011, Georgia has been celebrating the International Seafarer's Day annually by organizing various events. This holiday reminds of the importance of maritime professions and the contribution of seafarers to the development of the maritime industry.
