On February 16, 2023, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the Deputy Minister of Transport, visited Batumi Seaport to consider issues of transportation of exported/imported goods through Georgia. The delegation included the heads of the railway JSC "Uzbekiston Temir Yollari", representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, representatives of logistics companies and manufacturers. In turn, the delegation was met by the leaders of the Batumi sea port, the Batumi oil terminal and the Georgian railway.
The meeting was held in a businesslike atmosphere. Problematic issues in the logistics chain of the middle corridor were raised. The Uzbek side initiated the creation of a working group to discuss the principle of interaction between the participants in the middle corridor.
