Meeting at the Maritime Transport Agency
Ulan Tleugali, General Director of Batumi Sea Port,
and Marlen Tulegenov, General Director of Batumi Oil Terminal, held a working
meeting with Ivane Abashidze, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of
Georgia.
During the
meeting, the parties discussed ongoing processes in the maritime transport
sector, prospects for infrastructure development, and opportunities to increase
the efficiency of port operations. Special attention was given to improving
safety standards, compliance with international requirements, and the potential
for implementing joint projects.
The parties emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation and highlighted Georgia’s strategic role in the region. They also discussed the significance of the “Middle Corridor”, which is emerging as a fast, reliable, and strategically important transit route between Europe and Asia.
The participants expressed readiness to continue active cooperation in the future to support the sustainable development of Georgia’s maritime sector.
The meeting was also attended by Tamaz Imerlishvili, Deputy Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, and Irakli Devadze, Head of the Maritime Safety Department.
