Batumi Sea Port Hosts Interagency Exercises Under NEXUS Georgia 2026

Berth No. 11 of the Batumi Sea Port and the training vessel Captain Tengiz Gadilia served as the venue for a successful interagency practical exercise focused on emergency response to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats.

The exercises were conducted with the support of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the U.S. Department of Defense and coordinated by the State Security Service of Georgia. The initiative aimed to practically evaluate interagency coordination, operational response efficiency, and maritime security mechanisms.

Batumi Sea Port provided comprehensive security measures, alongside the logistical and organizational support required to ensure the seamless execution of the drills.

The exercises will continue on September 2, focusing on a biological and epidemiological threat scenario.

Batumi Sea Port reaffirms its unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest international and national security standards.
